Sunlux® Collection
Sunlux® is Vertilux’s newest fabric collection for awning applications. Featuring a large selection of Plains, Classics and Striped fabrics, Sunlux® is made with the highest quality acrylic fibers. Utilizing a mass-dying and wet spinning process, the colored pigments saturate the polymer solution before the fiber is formed, thereby obtaining excellent resistance and performance under extreme weather conditions. Additionally, Sunlux® is resistant to the effects of micro-organisms, and it has a high resistance to wear and tear. Sunlux® fabrics also provide a high degree of comfort and protection against UV radiation.
Sunlux® fabrics offer the best in solar protection. Using these fabrics for awnings and other related applications results in a series of reduction coefficients that allow for energy savings. This generates a high level of well-being that preserves visual comfort and cooling luminosity.
Sunlux® fabrics also provide protection from ultraviolet radiation. This is achieved by dispersing, absorbing and reflecting the UV rays, thereby preventing them from passing through the fabric and entering into direct contact with the skin. The UV protection is progressively higher or lower depending upon the intensity of the colors. In association with AITEX (Textile Industry Research Association - Europe) and the Association of Tests for the Applied Protection of Ultraviolet (UV) Rays, Vertilux, Ltd. has conducted tests to determine the performance of Sunlux® fabrics when exposed in their original form to UV radiation. The different designs of the Sunlux® Collection subsequently undergo a number of treatments resembling their traditional uses and aging process. The result of these tests provide protection (UV) factors expressed in values – the higher the number, the greater the protection.
In compliance with the ISO 4920 Standard, all Sunlux® fabrics distributed by Vertilux undergo a SPRAY TEST control. The purpose of this test is to determine the fabric’s resistance and behavior in wet or humid surroundings. During this test, the fabric is exposed to “artificial rain”, after which its effect on the fabric is determined. The result obtained is assessed on a scale ranging from 0 to 100. Sunlux® fabrics have proven to have outstanding hydrophobicity and, owing to this factor, the awnings dry quickly and dust accumulation is prevented.
The better the fabric is cared for, the longer it will be able to maintain its luster.
We recommend 5 basic maintenance tips:
- Vacuum off the dirt regularly.
- If necessary, clean with a neutral soap and sponge, with water at a temperature of not more than 86° Rinse with water. (Use intermediate pressure - do not use hot water at high pressure.)
- Do not use abrasive products.
- Always let the fabric dry completely before rolling it up.
- Store the awning in a cover during the winter.
A primer coat that possesses unparalleled dirt-repellent and contamination-prevention qualities is applied during the fabric finishing process. The result is the elimination of dirt! In addition, the primer improves the appearance of the fabric, facilitates its maintenance and offers a better protection against atmospheric phenomenon as well as having excellent performance in the rain.
Utilizing the highest manufacturing standards, Vertilux has tremendous confidence in the durability of our Sunlux® fabrics. The material and color are covered by Vertilux’s warranty when the product is used under normal conditions and with ordinary exposure to the sun and weather conditions. Damage due to accidents, inappropriate use or negligence is not covered by the warranty; and Vertilux Ltd. is responsible for the replacement of the material only and not for the cost of dismantling or for replacement installations. The warranty enters into force from the date on which the fabrics are first delivered to the customer.
